Lost For Words

Day 106

Friday July 7, 2017

Miles: 1149.0 - 1164.9   Completed: 15.9

Time: 7:48am 5:35pm

Weather: Drizzle, cloudy, then rain

It doesn't happen very often when I am lost for words. Today is one such day. Generally I know within a few hours what my message will be and I spend my hiking day seeking and searching for elements to build on. No such inpriration has come to me so far.

It was a normal day of hiking. We had some drizzle then just cloudy with manageable temps. As the day progressed we dried out as we hiked. Views were limited and the rocks increased with sporadic smooth sections. Our few views were mostly fogged in so we played the imagination game. We would stare out into the cloud covered nothingness and pretend to see what we wanted.

Our vision of the day was seeing Jason Statham on the beach then later seeing him delivering us ice cream cones up on the ridge. Poor Batman had to listen to the three of us girls, BB, Shortcake, and myself fantasize as we hiked on. A girl has to do what a girl has to do to keep up her momentum for whatever task is at hand. And our task was getting the miles done before our aching feet quit.

We failed to have our daily deer sighting. It's been a long time since we have not seen a deer on the trail. We did see some other cool things. Colorful mushrooms and spider webs were abundant.

We started the day in a drizzle, dried out and less than a mile before the car it started to rain. We tried hard to make it out of the woods without getting soaked but we were unsuccessful. No worries though, we were headed back to the hotel again.

Happy Hiking.
