Black Bear And Shortcake Are Back

Black Bear and Shortcake are back on the trail! We left Lowell, Maine this morning and drove the 4.5 hours back to the trail head where we left off two weeks. Actually I slept and Batman drove with Shortcake taking the copilot seat. It had been a tough two weeks for me saying good bye to me dad. I know he is in a better place but that doesn't fill the emptiness within. I can't stop crying. It's nice to be back on trail despite my sadness. The woods smell of drying leaves as fall approaches. The colors are changing and the evening air is crisp. I look forward to finishing our journey and I am glad it is fall. It's my favorite time of year and I expect our passage through New Hampshire and Maine to be just beautiful. Happy Hiking.
