Nervous Energy. Why?
T-shirt and bracelet thanks to our friend Darnel.
A quick post before I head out on the trail for a quick jaunt on the Appalachian Trail with my awesome friend Stacey. We are team # 41 for the L.L.Bean AT Relay. There are only 3 teams left to complete the final leg of this awesome adventure.
I am so happy to have been chosen for this event. We have been planning since last winter. As the time drew closer for our start date I have been overwhelmed with this nervous energy. I am not sure why. I have all the confidence in the world of my abilities and over 4,000 miles of backpacking experience but still this restlessness exists.
I have had to hit pause, take deep breathes, and concentrate on the task at hand such as work, home, and ecetera. That nervousness can be debilitating if I didn't hone it in and stifle it. A great teacher once told me nervousness just means you care. Okay, so a little is good. But just like all good things , too much of it isn’t always beneficial.
Thanks to Stacey and my wonderful hubby to help keep me calm and focused. I don’t know what I would do without them.
It is almost time to hit the road for the 4 hour drive to the trailhead. With a little luck there will be cell service on top of a peak so I can send updates of our journey. Until then, Happy Trails.
Ps- I am annoyed my app won’t let me upload photos.
